Our Story
Hartwell Lake News was founded in 2002 by Mike Gray, a respected community leader and owner of Hartwell Lake Properties in Anderson, South Carolina. Passionate about the lake and its surrounding communities, Mike created the publication to provide reliable, relevant information for homeowners, visitors, and lake enthusiasts across the Lake Hartwell region.
Over the years, the publication evolved from The Hartwell Lake News into what is now widely known as Hartwell Lake News (HLN), a trusted source for local news, features, and resources. Today, that legacy continues under dedicated local leadership, with a strong commitment to keeping the community informed, connected, and supported.
