The Hartwell Lake Charity Run Celebrates 17 Years on the Water

Boaters from across the Southeast and beyond will gather June 11-13 at the legendary Green Pond Landing as the Hartwell Lake Charity Run returns to kick off the summer season. The event is presented by title sponsors Iron Harbor Self Storage and Old Stone Tractor.

“Boating is on everybody’s mind when the weather starts warming up, and we are excited to see everybody return to Hartwell Lake,” says Laurie Ashley, executive director of Meals on Wheels, Anderson.

Launched in 2010 as the Hartwell Lake Poker Run and rebranded in 2022, the event is now a signature fundraiser for Meals on Wheels, Anderson, supporting senior and disabled homebound neighbors across Anderson County.

“Last year, the event raised $120,000 and provided more than 17,000 meals along with just as many visits offering connection and peace of mind,” Ashley said.

The weekend begins Thursday with the Social on the Green, sponsored by Park National Bank, Loftis Heating and Cooling, and World Insurance. It will feature live music, catering by Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill, a cash bar, boats on display, and an auction preview. Tickets are available online.

Friday’s Street Party will include live music from The Vinyl Junkies, a catered dinner, drinks, local vendors, and an auction benefiting Meals on Wheels, Anderson. Parking is $10 at the gate.

Tickets for the catered dinner will be available on the event website.

Saturday’s Boat Blast-Off begins at 11 a.m., with participants heading out across Lake Hartwell.

Spectators can enjoy food, music, vendors, and activities throughout the day at Green Pond Landing. Parking is $10.

“It’s a fun, high-energy weekend with something for everyone,” said Haley Daniel, special events coordinator for Meals on Wheels, Anderson.
